Royal Properties Colony Hardware to Open in Orange
The Orange, Connecticut Economic Development Corporation, is pleased to
announce that Colony Hardware Corporation will be relocating their Corporate
Headquarters and Distribution Center to 269 South Lambert Road, Orange,
Connecticut. Colony Hardware started as a hardware store in Meriden,
Connecticut during the 1940’s and was purchased by Michael Weiner and a
partner in 1988. Under Mr. Weiner’s leadership, the company has grown to
become the recognized regional leader in the distribution of tools, safety
equipment and supplies for professional contractors. Colony also has a tool
repair and rental division. The Company currently operates locations in
Albany, Boston and Landover, Maryland.
“We are very excited about the move to Orange and believe this new facility
will enable us to achieve the next level of growth for our customers and
company,” said Weiner. First Selectman James Zeoli of Orange is very excited
about Colony choosing Orange as a location for business expansion. He said,
“the Town has worked hard to promote a business friendly environment and
Colony was able to see this. This is a key business location with easy
access from Route 1 or I-95. The Town of Orange looks forward to a long term
relationship with Colony Hardware Corporation.”
Colony’s current Headquarters and Distribution Center are located in New
Haven, Connecticut. The company currently employs 100 associates in
Connecticut. Management expects to complete the move sometime this Summer.
