The Town of Orange uses an online system called ViewPoint for those that need to apply for a permit regarding health, buidling, etc.  You may apply and pay online.

Connecticut Department of Labor

The Connecticut Department of Labor’s website is your one-stop location for workforce services and programs. Their goal is to provide the state’s business community and job seekers with assistance that ultimately strengthens the economy.

AdvanceCT

AdvanceCT (formerly Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. - CERC) is a nonprofit corporation and public-private partnership that provides objective research, marketing and economic development resources consistent with our mission of making Connecticut a more competitive business environment.

Online Business Services 

The Connecticut Online Business Services website provides information regarding the steps needed to start a business, apply for licenses, business and commercial filings, leading you to the appropriate agencies, necessary forms and additional information sources, the Department of Labor, tax and license information, etc.

Workforce Alliance

Workforce Alliance is a policy and oversight organization responsible for creating a comprehensive, community-wide response to the challenges of building a highly skilled workforce. Through the coordination and administration of a variety of employment and training initiatives, they have prepared thousands of individuals for jobs and have assisted numerous employers with training and employee transition.

US Small Business Administration

The US Small Business Administration (SBA) provides assistance to small businesses, such as business financing; entrepreniurial information, training, and technical assistance; government contracting; etc.  

Liquor Permits, Applications, and Forms

For those that would like to open a package store in Orange, the State of Connecticut has a limit of one (1) package store permit for every 2,500 residents of a town as determined by the most recently completed decennial census. See the current list here: Number available in Orange

Go to the Liquor Control Division to check on status of an application, regulations, and more.  Go to Department of Consumer Protection's Page - Liquor Permits, Applications, and Forms for information and applications regarding different types of permits concerning alcohol in addition to package stores such as, wineries, festivals, grocery, etc.

Connecticut Restaurant Association

For new and current restaurant owners, the Connecticut Restaurant Association is a great resource and are advocates for the restaurant industry.  Although this is a member organization, it is worth joining.  They provide education, information and laws on running a restaurant, wait staff job bank, networking events, a chance to meet fellow restauranteurs in the state, and more.

Orange Chamber of Commerce

The Orange Chamber of Commerce helps businesses thrive and contribute to our community. They provide opportunities for member businesses to grow their respective businesses. The Chamber gives back to the community-at large through fundraising programs held throughout the year. 

REX Development

REX Development offers a full range economic development services in Greater New Haven, Connecticut.  Call 203-821-3682 to start the conversation.  Created in 1996, REX was formed as the economic development entity for the fifteen towns served by the South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG).

SCORE New Haven

The volunteer business professionals at New Haven SCORE are expert in a wide range of essential areas of business and commerce and offer private mentoring and a variety of workshops and seminars. If you are already in business or perhaps thinking about starting one call New Haven SCORE at 203-865-7645 for one on one support.
