Merle's Record Rack Turns 50!

On August 11, 2012 Merle’s Record Rack will be celebrating their 50th year anniversary.  Do you remember the piece of music you bought decades ago?  Chances are that if it was an 8 track, a vinyl album, a cassette or maybe even reel to reel, Merle’s Record Rack sold it.  So if you would like to step back in time for just a little while, you are invited to help celebrate Merle’s “Nifty Fifty” Anniversary celebration.

Michael Papa, owner of Merle's Record Rack
Please join owner Michael Papa and other high fidelity customers who have supported Merle's throughout their many years in business.

First Selectman James Zeoli said, “Michael moved his business to Orange in 2003 and he selected a very good location for his particular business.  We are happy to see that his business has succeeded over these many years.”

Merle’s Record Rack was started in 1962 and it has survived through many technological changes.  Michael Papa, who purchased the store in 1984 said, “Merles has endured and flourished all these years by changing with the times, but the one thing that we remained committed to is customer service.”  If you are looking for a particular song or album, chances are Merle’s will have it and if they don’t, Michael Papa knows where to find it.

Musicians of all ages and genres will perform in the store throughout the day, providing a soundtrack to this musical voyage.  Merle’s has changed to stay alive; they still thrive throughout the decades while maintaining that small town record store feel.

Come to the Record Rack on August 11th, 307 Racebrook Road in Orange, CT and rock through the ages in a 50th celebration that shouldn’t be missed!

Corporate Graphic Designer Breaks Away

Dale J. Pavlik Forms Independent Design Firm Specializing in Business Results

After 20+ years of graphic design for household names like Avis, Coca-Cola, GE and the National Hockey League, Dale Pavlik has founded his first independent design firm, picking up nine clients in his first six weeks on his own. Much of Dale’s corporate and independent success can be attributed to his high skill level, creative excellence, business strategy savvy and bottom line orientation.

“Dale provided creative leadership in establishing our brand in the financial services marketplace,” says Ed Friderici, senior vice president, Phoenix Investment Partners. “Dale raised the bar in all of our efforts in marketing our SMA and mutual fund business. He is a top-tier graphic designer (one of the best I've worked with over the years).”

Opening DJP Design LLC in Orange, Connecticut enables Dale to build the best project team and utilize the highest quality resources for his business clients. That’s critical to Dale’s goals of producing bottom line results for his clients by helping businesses grow revenue, increase sales, strengthen market share, launch new products and expand brand recognition.

DJP Design can successfully handle virtually any corporate graphic design project. Advertising, annual reports, brand identity programs, capability brochures, e-sales tools, sales collateral and trade show booth graphics are among the full palette of graphic design services DJP Design offers.

A major and distinctive attribute of Dale’s design approach is his firm’s emphasis on client satisfaction.  “At DJP Design, it’s all about happy clients,” Dale says. “Creative excellence alone isn’t enough. Neither is great business strategy. To make my clients happy, I deliver both.”

Immediately upon graduation from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA degree in graphic design, Dale spent the next 12 years designing for several Fairfield County Connecticut agencies. In 2002 The Phoenix Companies in Hartford hired him away to serve as their art director in the marketing communications department.
