Compliance Violations, Survey Results, Phase II Reopening & More

NEXT PHASE: Salons and Barbershops are scheduled to reopen on June 1st. Phase II is scheduled to begin on June 20th, pending achievement of public health metrics. See ROADMAP FOR REOPENING CONNECTICUT. Businesses in Phase II consist of:

  • Hotels (no bar areas)
  • Restaurants (indoor dining - no bar)
  • Gyms, Fitness and Sports Clubs
  • Outdoor Arts, Entertainment and Events (up to 50 people)
  • Outdoor Amusement Parks
  • Bowling Alleys
  • Social Clubs
  • Pools
  • Museums, Zoos, Aquariums
  • Movie Theaters
  • Personal Services

 Sector Specific Rules will be released at that time. Please remember to SELF-CERTIFY prior to opening.

SMALL BUSINESS REOPENING GUIDE: A guide to assist businesses in the reopening process includes topics regarding financial needs, employee training & support, physical layout, and a list of suppliers. The guide will be updated as new information becomes available. REOPENING GUIDE

COMPLIANCE: The State wants to ensure businesses are complying to the GENERAL BUSINESS AND SECTOR-SPECIFIC RULES and that they have completed the mandatory SELF-CERTIFICATION process. First violations will result in warnings and education, with penalties escalating for more serious offenses. Residents and employees can report violations using the state's online REOPEN CT COMPLAINT FORM. After the form is submitted, they will receive a customized response containing contact information for local law enforcement, local public health, etc.

SURVEY RESULTS: AdvanceCT issued a series of surveys to both employers and employees regarding issues business owners and staff are facing. The data compiled has been used to help inform Connecticut's Reopening Committee. See results: SMALL BUSINESS SURVEY RESULTS and CT WORKER SURVEY

VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE DAY: Connecticut Office of Tourism has announced the 16th Annual Open House Day on June 13th, which will be a virtual event. The goal of the event is to educate the public of tourism businesses in Connecticut. Businesses can participate by creating a video to be included in the digital event. There is no charge. To determine if your business meets the guidelines for inclusion, for more information, and to learn how to create your video, review CONNECTICUT OPEN HOUSE DAY. If you meet the guidelines, submit the REGISTRATION.

PPP LOAN FORGIVENESS APPLICATION: The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Forgiveness Application was released by the SBA. The instructions inform borrowers how to apply for forgiveness of their PPP loans, consistent with the CARES Act. INSTRUCTIONS & LOAN FOREGIVENESS APPLICATION
