Reopening 5/20 - Certify Your Business with the State & Outdoor Dining Info

5/14/2020

Although I have been calling many of the businesses in the Town of Orange, I'm afraid I won't be able to get in touch with all of you prior to May 20th. I would like to keep track of what businesses plan to open in the Town so that we can publicize on our social media and keep a list on our website. Please contact me at: asliby@orangeedc.com or call 203-891-1045 with your reopening plans.

Below is information that businesses need in preparation for their opening. Be mindful of the state's rules by industry and remember to self-certify your business prior to opening. Any restaurant wanting to apply for outdoor dining, please know that the Town of Orange has created a temporary permit application based on the state's guidelines.

PHASE I STATE'S RULES FOR REOPENING BY INDUSTRY: Hair Salons & Barbers, Museums & Zoos, Offices, Restaurants, and Retail/Mall are scheduled to open on 5/20. See the state's rules regarding opening these industries: STATES RULES

SELF CERTIFY YOUR BUSINESS WITH THE STATE: In preparation to open, businesses owners need to SELF-CERTIFY their business by answering a few questions. After certification is complete, business owners should receive a notification they can use on social media or post on their doors, etc.

RESTAURANTS & OUTDOOR DINING: The State is allowing restaurants to open with outdoor dining only and has announced GUIDELINES the town's must follow to permit outdoor dining. The guidelines allow changing zoning rules to expedite the process for a temporary outdoor permit during COVID19. The Town of Orange has created a new application based on the state’s recommendations to accommodate restaurants for a temporary permit. This application will be posted on the town's ViewPoint system within the next day. Please check the town's VIEWPOINT APPLICATION SYSTEM if you would like to apply for the temporary permit and/or, if you need department information, check the  TOWN OF ORANGE WEBSITE.
