WHAT'S NEW IN TOWN
All Freshened Pup, a dog grooming businessrecently leased space at 153 Boston Post Road. Services include bath and brush, full hair cut, and nail trim. They are hoping to open at the end of August.
Club Pilates, boutique fitness studio offering Pilates classes at 292 Boston Post Road, targeting Fall opening.
Joyville Play & Cafe, a new family start up business featuring an indoor playground for children recently leased space at 292 Boston Post Road. Renovations have begun and the new owners expect to open in December.
Jenny Nails is now open at109 Boston Post Road and recently had their grand opening! They've had a presence at another salon in West Haven for 13 years. Find them on INSTAGRAM.
Marathon Sports, an athletic footwear and apparel store is now open at 464 Boston Post Road. Not only for running and trail, but keep in mind restaurant, police, and fire workers can get properly fitted for their daily footwear as well. The public is welcome to become a marathon sports community partner to enjoy perks such as discounts, VIP shop nights, early access to new products, and give-back programs. There are many new businesses coming to town, but aren't ready to open yet due to renovations and/or heavy construction.
Construction Continues
Noble Gas- The construction of the new gas station is making headway at 88 Marsh Hill Road. The first portion of the project including the 8,384 square-foot building (gas/convenience store with drive-thru and ice cream shop) and gas canopies have been constructed and some paving has been completed. An opening date has not been announced.
Big Y - Plans are underway for the new grocery store set to open at 200 Indian River Road by the end of summer 2027. The 67,400 square foot space, formerly the Christmas Tree Shop, will be redesigned and plans have been submitted to zoning.
VEG ER Pets - Renovations continue at 507 Boston Post Road for the veterinarian hospital and urgent pet care facility, which will include 5 treatment rooms. They are expected to open in January, 2027.
Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings - Renovations have begun at 348 Boston Post Road for the new restaurant in the former Friday's restaurant space.
KidsUnited - Construction continues for the indoor, year-round soccer and child development facility for children ages 1.5 - 9 years old at 292 Boston Post Road. There are locations all over the country and this will be the first one in Connecticut. If construction stays on target, they plan to open the end of September.
Subdivision
292 Boston Post Road - Three spaces are leased (including Joyville and KidsUnited mentioned above) at the former Party City building, which was recently subdivided into four spaces. I've been in contact with the third user, but at this time, I can't announce until they are ready. The 3,361 square-foot remaining space is on the market for lease. The plaza also includes a Subway sandwich shop, that will benefit from the additional traffic in the plaza.
