ORANGE, CT (November, 2006) 

Amity Construction & Design of Hamden, Inc. won the 2006 HOBI Award for the Best New Commercial Building for the design and construction of the Recreation Showroom, 250 Indian River Road, Orange, Connecticut.  The award was sponsored by the Connecticut Home Builders Association. 

One of the reasons for the award was the imaginative yet disciplined use of the terrain to produce a building that fulfilled the needs of the Recreation Showroom and was sensitive to the impact on wetlands. In addition, the project is an attractive addition to the area that is as pleasing to the eye as it is practical for both the Showroom and its customers.

With the addition of Spring Brook Common, a new, custom medical office and retail condominium presently under construction between the Recreation Showroom and the Christmas Tree Shop, Indian River Road will be an appealing and convenient destination for many in the future.
