OrangeLife Magazine December 2011 Completed

The Orange Economic Development Corporation has completed it's has sold 58 Advertisements to local businesses and has developed 16 articles for the  December 2011 Issue of the OrangeLife Magazine.

Paul Grimmer, Executive Director said, "This 60 page magazine represents the 4th Issue of OrangeLife Magazine and we are excited to bring it to our readers.  We have featured a new series of business and community service articles designed to appeal to a wide segment of the population."

Businesses and residents should expect the magazine to be delivered to their respective homes, businesses and P.O. Boxes between Thursday, November 26th and December 1st. To view the online versions you may find them at www.orangelife.net. 

Hubbell Corporation Hosts Open House

In an effort to spur interest in former corporate headquarters of the Hubbell Corporation, Senior Executives for Hubbell and the Town of Orange held an Open House at Derby Milford Road on Thursday, October 13, 2011.

Approximately 30 people from over a dozen real estate firms and private businesses participated in the 2 hour event, which included a tour of the Hubbell Corporate Campus. 

State DECD to Administer Small Business Express Program

There is established within the Department of Economic and Community Development the Small Business Express program. Said program shall provide small businesses with various forms of financial assistance, using a streamlined application process to expedite the delivery of such assistance.

A small business eligible for assistance through said program shall;

(1) employ, on at least fifty per cent of its working days during the preceding twelve months, not more than fifty employees,
(2) be a Connecticut-based business with operations in Connecticut,
(3) have been registered to conduct business in this state for not less than twelve months, and
(4) be in good standing with the payment of all state and local taxes and with all state agencies.

The Small Business Express program shall consist of various components, including a revolving loan fund to support small business, and job training and creation incentives.
