OEDC DONATES TO THE ORANGE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
At our December board meeting, we were pleased to provide a donation of $2,500 to the Orange Volunteer Fire Department (OVFD) from the proceeds of our 2021 golf tournament. The donation will be used towards the purchase of a gear extractor washing machine--which is used to wash the carcinogens from firefighter's turnout gear. The machine has not been replaced since 1999 and is much needed.

STATE OF CT NEWS
Gov. Ned Lamont announced that he has placed more than $124 million allocated for small business growth, workforce training, and community revitalization for approval at a meeting of the State Bond Commission on December 21st, where he serves as chairman.
Among the projects that Lamont put forth included $25 million for the Connecticut Communities Challenge Grant Program, $25 million for statewide brownfield revitalization initiatives, $21 million for the Small Business Express Program to provide financial assistance to smaller businesses, $10 million for the remediation of Bridgeport’s former Remington Arms Facility and $4 million into the state’s Minority Business Loan Program.
